Call it Spring (an Aldo company) has really made a statement. Especially when it comes to shoes. Don’t get me wrong, Aldo does have quite a great variety of shoes currently available. Our team has also purchased some stylish brands the company has to offer. However when you get something you don’t expect, people are definitely going to talk about it.
Customer service is extremely important to any company and it should be the responsibility of businesses to ensure customers are happy with the products they purchase. Unfortunately, it is something Call It Spring lacks. Although this isn’t the main segment of this review, it is definitely one that can easily be shared by hundreds of customers that have walked into their stores. Along with our team, many customers found Call It Spring’s customer service to be “quite rude”. Something we immediately noticed from the individual that was helping us with our purchase. High levels of attitude that sparked this review. This isn’t based on one interaction but two specific interactions encountered by two Trindo members when buying products from Call It Spring and recently, something else has taken the spotlight.
Shoes… with quite a problem.
A little over a month ago, one member purchased a pair of shoes from Call It Spring. There weren’t any problems when trying on the shoes and everything looked perfect. It was what happened within that month that made us reconsider.
The shoes purchased were not worn every day but rather casual shoes worn every so often. In the beginning, everything was great. Until a slight pinching feeling began to take its toll when wearing the shoes for an extended period of time. Thinking it was a rock, the individual removed the shoe to take a look. What she saw is something that we found alarming.
It looks to be a small dot under the insole of the shoe. Sticking out and causing pain when worn. A closer look, shows that a screw was not fully tightened during manufacturing.
There was a screw in the shoe that was causing all the issues. Raising questions like why exactly would something like this have passed any sort of quality control? Yes, it may seem like a small issue, however, what we found worse was the response when we decided to contact Call It Spring. Basically, they stated that a receipt would be needed within the return period for the purchase to be eligible for a refund. After replying to the response, still, no reply has been received by our team. There also doesn’t seem to be any other information regarding this manufacturing issue. We also find it unbelievable that the company would fail to provide a refund after the 30 day period if the issue was a loose screw.
There are many dangers involved with problems like this. The first would definitely be the injuries that could have resulted if the screw was a little further out. The shoes have also left a small mark and caused pain. Problems that Call It Spring is definitely responsible for. We are still awaiting a response from the team and will provide updates accordingly.
Right from the terrible customer service experience up to the manufacturing issues, it doesn’t look like Call It Spring will be a place we will be looking to shop at again and we would recommend others avoid. Especially until customers get the respect they deserve when shopping in retail stores. Attitude and bad service are things no one should tolerate when shopping.
